The challenges of big data for societies in a changing world
What is it?
Big Data Europe is an EU-funded research project, aiming at better usage of and building knowledge on Big Data in Europe. The Big Data Europe Workshop was a one day event to showcase first results from the Big Data Europe project and to discus the usage of big data in the social sciences. Furthermore it was used to gather input from the stakeholders present at the workshop in order to influence the design of the new big data platform delivered by the project.
When & Where?
The Big Data Europe Workshop took place on November 18th, 2015 at Eurostat in Luxembourg.
YourDataStories was represented at the Big Data Europe Workshop by our project partners ATC and NCSR-D. Anna Triantafillou (ATC) and Vangelis Karkaletsis (NCSR-D) presented the project’s work going “From your data to data stories”. They used the opportunity to network, met with the BigDataEurope Project Coordinator Sören Auer as well as other BigDataEurope project partners. They furthermore discussed a collaboration agreement with both the OpenBudgets.eu project and BigDataEurope project for common dissemination actions as well as for setting a common pilot related to EU cities budgets and spending.
