On October 24th, 2017, YDS participated in an event for the Digital Transformation of Public Administrations. The event was organised by the Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (CONNECT) and the Research Executive Agency (REA) and took place at REA in Brussels.

The aim of the event was to promote the uptake of Horizon 2020 projects’ results in the field of ICT-enabled Open Government both at policy and market level. Another intention was to foster peer learning and networking activities among developers of Govtech solutions, potential clients, support service providers and policy makers. It was attended by around 100 people representing 27 Horizon 2020 open government projects, European Commission policy makers, investors and government officials.

The program concluded workshops and discussions on exploitation and sustainability possibilities including the framework conditions for results’ uptake, market opportunities and available support tools.

As a highlight, a pitching competition was executed among the five coordinators of the 2014 ICT-enabled Open Government call (Digiwhist, Openbudgets.eu, Route-to-PA, WeLive and YourDataStories). Anna Trintafillou represented YDS, presenting the project and the strategies for approaching the market and exploiting of the results.

YourDataStories was announced the winner of the competition, “because it was the most complete presentation that covered all aspects,” announced Leonard Soenen from the venture capital fund Volta Ventures before awarding the prize to Anna Triantafillou.
